About

Inspired by the spirit of her great grandfather, who was a painter born in the small town of Villaherreros in Palencia, Spain, and studied visual arts in Madrid before settling in Cordoba, Argentina as well as both her grandfather and grandmother, who were also painters and taught her at an early age the infinite possibilities of colour and form, Renata blended their influences and her love for the arts and crafts in her native Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Raised in a family that consistently supported and encouraged their siblings' artistic development, Renata -one of five sisters- found her predilection in crafts as well as in music, and also Anthropology and other social sciences. Something that started as a hobby with one of her sisters, the creation of woven belts with stone and metallic applications, evolved years later into her growing interest and passion about local crafts and specifically those involving gemstones . This interest combined with her adventurous spirit took her to travel through diverse landscapes such as Argentina's southern Patagonia and north-western provinces of Cordoba, Salta, Jujuy, Mendoza and Tucuman, as well as the north of Brazil, Mexico, and Arizona in the US. She found these places to be very rich and nurturing in her quest for creating pieces that reflect harmony and our connection with nature through its most elemental components, the rocks and minerals world.

Currently based in Los Angeles, CA and having successfully sold her jewelry to more than 280 customers throughout several farmers markets and arts and crafts fairs in the Los Angeles area such as the Westwood Farmer Market, Palos Verdes Farmers Market and Melrose Trading Post, she is now reaching to a wider public through her recently created Strum Jewelry company.
